Things to Keep in Mind While Buying Your First DSLR

Before even starting to understand what photography is, people tend to be baffled with a list of cameras that they heard are good. It is always highly recommended that you research thoroughly on photography, or attend classes on photography before you are ready to pick your choice of DSLR camera. For those who have attended classes or know some basics of photography, finding a good camera is very crucial for your work. There is no one best camera, rather quite a few of them that will do your work. Here are things to keep in mind while buying your first DSLR camera:

• Brand: The brand is probably the major factor that one thinks about when buying a DSLR camera. There is a huge debate on whether to go with Cannon or Nikon. It is highly recommended that you hold cameras from both brands to understand which one comforts your hand more. If you are not comfortable with the interface with Nikon then Cannon should be your pick, or vice versa. Usually, Cannon produces better indoor images than Nikon, and Nikon works great in natural light. This means that you also need to understand your interest of photography before you pick your machine. Nikon usually tend to cost a bit more, so if you are looking for a cheap one, Cannon might be the one of your choice.

• Model: Resist yourself from going with the latest or technologically advanced ones. Try to stay with ones that are cheap. The reason for this is because the cheap ones are often more user friendly to rookies than the advanced ones. You should learn the basics of using a DSLR camera first before you go for an advanced full frame camera.

• Price: Be thoughtful while spending on your first DSLR camera. The first cameras are always the victim of unmindful hitting and scratches. In most cases, people buy their first camera to test their true interest in photography. So, don't go for the exclusive and expensive cameras yet, because, even now, you don't know if you really want to pursue photography. Once you see your inner passion and see your improvement, you will know what to buy.

• Features: This is something to look for. All the latest features are added to ease photography, but it is important that the features are not comforting too much that you might not learn proper photography. In the most advanced and expensive cameras, there are often less features and options than the inexpensive DSLR cameras. So, be thoughtful and give priority only to those that are essential.

• Lens: I know how those big white lenses make you feel when you see them. Those are for highly advanced and if you want to use them, you need to grasp the skill to use them. As a starter, a kit lens (18mm-55mm) is what you need. You might go with a prime lens, but that should be your extra lens.

Always try to avoid other's suggestion about the brands as they matter least for a beginner. Consult with experts only before going to buy a camera. You want the right advices and not carried away by other's wants. If you know anyone who owns a DSLR camera, you should try their camera properly and see if you like that. The camera is your machine and you need to be comfortable with it. If you follow the above tips properly, you are sure to come up with a good DSLR camera.
