How to Get a Ghost on a Photograph?
Now ghosts can't be seen right? Well, yes, these can be seen. Trust me after you learn this trick, you will create ghosts of your own on your photographs.
By a ghost photograph, I mean, a photograph in which a character is looking exactly like a ghost from a film. That is it should be see through, while the rest of the image has to be a normal one. It is easy and almost anyone can do it. Just a few simple steps and you are good to go.
How to do it? Well here's the trick:
Set up the scene and take two pictures. The model should be placed in two different positions, in two pictures, the backdrop remaining the same.
The initial tricks:
- Get yourself a volunteer
- Brief the volunteer on how the photographs are to be taken.
- Keep the camera steady
- Now take the first photo
- Move your model to the second position
- Take the second photo
- Now we are done with taking the photographs. It is time to sit with the computer and get the job done.
Use any image editing software and upload both the pictures. Then click on the keyboard to select the move tool and drag the ghost photo on the background photo. This will create two layers. Now make sure you edit the image that is to go on the top. The image to go on top is your ghost image. Now go to adjustment settings and desaturate.
Once this is done you need to erase everything from the picture above to see only the ghost. Now this can be done two ways:
- Choose the eraser tool from your keyboard and erase everything except for your ghost. Keep pressing ctrl+z for any mistakes and keep scrubbing off everything else.
- The alternative option would be to do it the layer masking way. Begin with adding a layer mask to your top layer, desaturated. Now fill the layer with black. This will mask everything else.
Now using a brush bring the colour of your model to white. In case of a mistake take it back to black and then bring it back to white.
Now the only part left is to make the model see-through. Just make the layer transparent. You can now almost see through the image.
The last task left is to flatten the image. Go to layer and then click on flatten image.
